Prof. João Bosco Monte participates in the first Argentina-Africa Forum

Prof. João Bosco during his remarks

Professor João Bosco Monte, President of the Brazil Africa Institute (IBRAF), took part in the First Argentina-Africa Forum, held at the Teatro Otamendi in San Fernando, Argentina, at the initiative of the Universidad Nacional del Delta (UNDelta).

The event addressed relations between Argentina and African countries across several areas, including international trade and business; tourism, sports and culture; academia, innovation and research; as well as diplomacy and technical cooperation.

Although he was unable to attend in person, Professor João Bosco participated in the Forum’s opening session through a video message. In his remarks, he thanked the organizers for drawing inspiration from the Brazil Africa Forum in developing the initiative and highlighted the importance of spaces for dialogue and exchange in strengthening relations between Latin America and Africa.

“Often, a conversation at an event like this one in Argentina can lead to concrete cooperation, a joint project or a lasting relationship. Perhaps one of the most valuable impacts of these spaces is their ability to help people and institutions that were once far apart recognize one another as potential partners,” said Professor João Bosco.

He also expressed his gratitude to UNDelta and to Professor Gonzalo Meschengieser, Dean of the Institute of Governance and Global Affairs, for the invitation.

Golden Africa Connection Award

In recognition of his career and his contribution to strengthening relations between Latin America and Africa, the event’s organizing committee decided to present Professor João Bosco Monte with the Golden Africa Connection Award. The award will be presented by the UNDelta team during Brazil Africa Forum 2026.
