The Brazilian Embassy in Nairobi held a meeting on Wednesday (23) with representatives from the private sector and governments in East Africa as part of the outreach and preparation activities for the Brazil Africa Forum 2026, which will take place on November 11 and 12 in São Paulo.
The meeting was attended by Prof. João Bosco Monte, President of the Brazilian Institute of Africa (IBRAF); João Alfredo dos Anjos Junior, Ambassador of Brazil to Kenya; and Marcos Brandalise, CEO of Brazafric.
In the morning, representatives of business organizations took part in the meeting. In the afternoon, the agenda brought together government representatives from Kenya, Burundi, Uganda, and Somalia — countries covered by the activities of the Brazilian Embassy in Nairobi. The objective was to present the Brazil Africa Forum 2026 and encourage the participation of representatives from the public and private sectors of the region in the event.
For Prof. João Bosco Monte, President of IBRAF, the meeting contributed to bringing the region’s business sector and government representatives closer to the Brazil Africa Forum 2026. “The event organized by the Embassy was a great opportunity to invite businesspeople and public officials from East African countries to this year’s Brazil Africa Forum.”
At the opening of the meeting, Ambassador João Alfredo dos Anjos Junior reinforced the invitation to participate in the Forum and highlighted its theme. “I would like to extend an invitation to this year’s Forum, which will have as its theme ‘Natural Resources and Prosperity: Turning Resources into Sustainable Economic Development’ and presents an opportunity to further strengthen ties between Brazil and East Africa.” The program in Nairobi is part of the international mobilization agenda for the Brazil Africa Forum 2026, which will bring together government, business, and institutional leaders to discuss ways to transform natural resources into sustainable economic development and shared prosperity.
