Professor João Bosco Monte, founder and president of the Brazil Africa Institute (IBRAF), delivered a lecture during the Diplomatic Training Course held at the Rio Branco Institute (IRBr) in Brasília last August. The event was also attended by IRBr Director Ambassador Mitzi Gurgel Valente da Costa.
In his presentation, Professor João Bosco discussed IBRAF’s work, the current landscape of Brazil-Africa relations, and the prospects for the 2026 Brazil Africa Forum, which will take place in November under the theme “Natural Wealth and Prosperity: Turning Resources into Sustainable Economic Development.”
The IBRAF president also serves as an academic rapporteur for the IRBr’s Advanced Studies Course (CAE), further contributing to academic and diplomatic dialogue on Brazil’s international relations and its engagement with the African continent.
