IBRAF is going to develop a leadership program in partnership with the Alliance for the Green Revolution in Africa

The president of the Brazil Africa Institute, João Bosco Monte, met in Nairobi, Kenya, with Agnes Kalibata, President of the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), and Fadel Ndiame, the Special Advisor to the Presidency, to define and materialize the partnership between the two organizations. Among the topics discussed was the operationalization of the “Leadership Academy”, a program developed to select and train future African leaders to define, in particular, the agricultural development agenda and projects on the continent.
Due to the Brazilian agricultural expertise, IBRAF will and bring new African leaders closer to the reality of Brazilian agriculture. The program is designed by AGRA and will run for three years, with the objective of training 150 new African leaders.
In addition to the Leadership Academy, João Bosco Monte and Agnes Kalibata also discussed new cooperation actions between organizations, which will include the direct participation of AGRA in the Brazil Africa Forum 2020, that will take place between November 3 and 4 in São Paulo, and is going to be centered on natural resource management.
Likewise, IBRAF’s participation in the African Green Revolution Forum 2020 (AGRF), organized by AGRA, was defined. The event will take place between September 8 and 11 in Kigali, Rwanda.
