IBRAF and IFAD strengthen relationships for new partnerships

Representatives of the United Nations’ International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) visited the headquarters of the Brazil Africa Institute (IBRAF), in Fortaleza. Rossana Polastri, IFAD’s Director of the Latin America and the Caribbean Division, Claus Reiner, IFAD’s Director for Brazil, and Hardi Vieira, IFAD’s Country Programs Officer, were welcomed by João Bosco Monte, IBRAF’s President.

During the visit, ongoing projects and future projects from both institutions were presented. The intention of the meeting was to initiate a dialogue to carry out joint projects, synchronizing the common agendas of organizations. A new encounter has already been scheduled.

IFAD already supports some of the IBRAF initiatives, such as the Brazil Africa Forum and Youth Technical Training Program, a program that trains young Africans in Brazil. The organization will attend the Brazil Africa Forum 2019 and will host a side event called “The Power of South-South and Triangular Cooperation in Improving Food Security”.

The Brazil Africa Forum 2019 will be held on November 12 and 13 in São Paulo. More information on the website: https://forumbrazilafrica.com/
