The Brazil Africa Institute (IBRAF) is proud to announce its acceptance as a member of the Council of Ethanol Clean Cooking (CECC), an initiative launched by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) at COP27 in Egypt. This significant partnership reflects IBRAF’s commitment to advancing sustainable solutions and promoting innovative practices in clean cooking technologies.

The CECC is a global platform dedicated to engaging developing countries, particularly high-impact nations, in the promotion of ethanol for clean cooking. By raising awareness, enhancing capacities, transferring technology, and strengthening ambitions, the Council supports its members in achieving Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG 7) and Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) commitments.

As a member, the Brazil Africa Institute will contribute its expertise in capacity-building programs, particularly in ethanol microdistilleries and the development of sugar industry value chains in Africa. By leveraging Brazil’s proven best practices and IBRAF’s extensive network of partners, the Institute aims to support CECC’s mission of facilitating technology transfer, technical assistance, and market creation for clean cooking and fuel blending.

The CECC currently brings together 22 countries and 24 partner organizations, including regional entities, development agencies, multilateral initiatives, technical and research institutions, industry associations, and private sector leaders. Members benefit from a collaborative platform to exchange information, share experiences, and nurture impactful alliances.

IBRAF’s active role in organizing impactful events both in Brazil and internationally positions the Brazil Africa Institute as a key player in advancing the Council’s objectives. Through knowledge sharing, capacity building, and collaboration, IBRAF seeks to drive forward sustainable development and innovative ethanol-based clean cooking solutions, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa.

This milestone underscores IBRAF’s dedication to bridging Brazil and Africa through impactful initiatives that promote innovative solutions and drive global progress. The Brazil Africa Institute looks forward to collaborating with CECC members and stakeholders to achieve shared objectives and create lasting impact.
